The Wounded Soldier Fundraiser 2008 Event Results

This year the Wounded Soldier Fundraiser raised a total of $52,000.00.  After expenses, $20,000.00 each will be awarded to Lt. Terrance J. Peterson, III of Warrenville and TSgt. Israel Del Toro Jr. of Naperville.  Both received the Purple Heart.

We would like to thank everyone who made a donation, sponsored a hole or come to the dinner in support of the Wounded Soldier Fundraiser. This was quite a year. After raising $15,400 last year, we set our sights a little higher. We decided to help two soldiers and set our goal at $30,000.

Thanks to such wonderful donations as a 50” RCA TV donated by Tom Jacobucci of Dan’s TV in Aurora, a $2000 gift certificate for Home Depot donated by Dan & Tim Adam, a two day/one night stay at the Kalahari water park including 36 holes of golf donated by the Kalahari Water Park in Wisconsin Dells and a six day vacation to Branson MO donated by the Wounded Soldier Fundraiser, we made a lot of money selling the raffles!  Click here to view the photo gallery of the Lucky Prize Winners and other photos from this event.

We had 169 guests that night and one very special guest…Lt. Terry Peterson and his family. Once again when I introduced them, you gave them a standing ovation. They (and ourselves too) were deeply moved by your appreciation and will never forget that moment. It is that ovation that fires me up for next year.

Israel Del Toro, our other wounded soldier was unable to attend the vent. So we decided to host an appreciation dinner for our volunteer’s and we invited D.T. and Terry to come…and they did! It was there that we gave them each a check for $20,000!
